CULTURAL EXCURSION - QATAR 2022 LEGACY PAVILION
Attendees of the Bloomberg Doha Conference are eligible for a private tour of Qatar 2022 Legacy Pavilion following conference sessions on day one and day two. The pavilion was a highly protected project during the bid; built to provide an experiential excursion of Qatar 2022, to showcase capability for the FIFA Technical Inspectors visit in September 2010.
The structure of the pavilion includes four main plazas:
1. The Welcome Tent – this is an area to relax and where an introduction is given on the purpose of the facility and the use of the room on the day of the FIFA inspection in 2010
2. The Connecting Plaza – this area provides an overview of the Generation Amazing (CSR) initiative the bid committee delivered and will continue to work on towards 2022. This initiative is focused at football development at grass roots level in local communities
3. The Legacy Pavilion – Provides a brief history of football in Qatar and showcases elements of major events previously held in Doha to prove the ability of staging major events
4. The World of Football – this is the ‘wow factor’ presentation that blends the 2030 vision with the plans for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. This presentation gives an understanding of what Qatar will be like in 9 years time.
