Aida Greenbury spearheads sustainability & stakeholder outreach activities for Asia Pulp & Paper Group, one of the largest pulp & paper producers in the world. The group manages dozens of manufacturing along with a vast landbank of pulpwood concessions worldwide.
Supported by a global sustainability team and various international best-in-field experts, Aida works to ensure a long-term responsible economic, social & environmental approach to paper-making through facilitation of productive, ongoing dialogue.
Since joining in 2004, she has been the key player behind major sustainability achievements in APP’s supply chains, forest conservation programs and the chief architect of APP’s Sustainability Roadmap : Vision 2020. She is the driving force behind the establishment of the company’s sustainability policy, its implementation, forest & product certifications. Aida also initiated a strict material treacability verification and risk evaluation policy along with the associated audits. This policy required APP to restructure its supply chains and is implemented to ensure the non-controversiality and legality of all fiber entering APP pulp mills.
Other milestones include the establishment of a sustainability certification system to comply with the GPL Law of Japan and the development of APP’s corporate Sustainability Report. In 2007, Aida introduced and has since been implementing a first in the world Socio carbon Footprint Assesments. The 2nd stage of carbon emission monitoring includes LCA, carbon budget calculations of APP’s pulpwood plantation and REDD programs. Recently Aida rolled out Water Footprinting and the first ever Human Rights assesment in the industry.
Aida authors regular sustainability updates which are distributed to thousands of stakeholders worldwide and frequently speaks at glohal sustainability seminars and provides advice for inter-governmental sustainability policies.
