As a sports reporter at Bloomberg News, Mike Buteau has been an integral part of the wire service’s coverage of a wide-range of the major sporting events, trends and news for the past two decades.
Buteau contributes to Bloomberg’s sports coverage from the company’s Atlanta bureau, helping grow Bloomberg’s presence in the Southeast U.S. His articles have appeared in publications around the globe, including the New York Times, Washington Post, ESPN.com, and USA Today.
As Bloomberg’s lead golf writer, Buteau has broken and covered numerous business-related issues impacting the sport, including Augusta National Golf Club’s membership and Tiger Woods’s off-course issues. Buteau has also contributed to a number of Bloomberg’s sports business-related initiatives, including making television and radio appearances and interviewing key team and industry executives.
Buteau has also spent the past three years covering the rapid growth and the business of endurance sports such as marathons and triathlon. He is a Boston Marathon qualifier and Ironman triathlon finisher.
Buteau joined Bloomberg News in June 1995. He graduated from Norwich University in 1994 with a B.A. in Communications. He and his wife, Emily, reside in Atlanta with their two children.
