Romesh Ratnesar is the Deputy Editor and International Editor of Bloomberg Businessweek, overseeing editorial content in the magazine’s global editions. Prior to joining Bloomberg Businessweek in 2011, Ratnesar was an editor-at-large and foreign-affairs columnist for TIME. He previously served as TIME’s Deputy Managing Editor and Foreign Editor, in addition to stints as a correspondent and staff writer for TIME and TIME International.

Ratnesar is the author of Tear Down This Wall: A City, A President, and the Speech That Ended the Cold War (Simon & Schuster, 2009.) Ratnesar has written for The New Republic, Slate, The Washington Post, The Washington Monthly, Legal Affairs and Mother Jones. He has held fellowships at the New America Foundation in Washington, D.C., and the Hoover Institution in Stanford, CA. A life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Ratnesar received his bachelors and masters degrees in history from Stanford University.
